MEET THE FOUNDERS
At Vairae, our journey began with a powerful blend of love, resilience, and passion. Antonique Short, a devoted mother of 12 and a dedicated professional, balanced her family responsibilities with a thriving career in real estate. With unwavering support from her family, including her Aunt Ora and Stepdad Zell, Antonique became a pillar of strength and a beacon of inspiration.
Her youngest daughter, Desma, known as “Girliee,” inherited Antonique’s love for hair care. Desma's journey into the world of hair and beauty was ignited by witnessing the transformative power of a wig on her mother. Guided by her mother’s encouragement and trained by the talented Sharita Driver, Desma became a licensed cosmetologist and expert wig maker. Together, Antonique and Desma co-founded Vairae, a revolutionary wig marketplace that combines their expertise and dedication.
